Well, I was off for a year and a half of the greatest adventure of my life. It was the Hardest thing I had ever done, it was exhausting working day in and day out. however, it also was the best thing I had done with my life up to that point. The people I met, the experiences I had and the things that I learned about the atonement are absolutely irreplaceable. During that time Shane wrote to me about once every six weeks. At first the letters were trivial on both sides. However, about six months after I left Shane left to teach English in Korea. Maybe it was a special bond that we developed both being away from home, or maybe it was that I finally saw what kind of man he really was. It was a shocking realization, but I came to know how good he was, I learned many important lessons from his letters that helped me greatly in times of hardship. I was so grateful for him, and I finally admitted to him in a letter that I had fallen in love with him. I was happy to know from his reply letter that he was in love with me too. I can't tell you how happy I was. I knew by Christmas time that I wanted to marry him. But I couldn't tell my family...I was still a missionary! Our relationship only grew fro the last six months of my mission and then I was home.
